It depends on the one you are talking about. I know for the Brazilian blowout they first wash your hair with a special shampoo made with proteins and keratin then they wash that out and then put in a conditioner and let you sit under the dryer for about 1hr and then after that they wash it out and then blow dry your hair then straighten it. I believe that it lasts for about 3-6months and you can get it wet but it will become wavy but not to the point to where it was before.
