What temperature should I straighten my hair at without damaging too much? Answers hair styler free

Question by Miss. Opinion: What temperature should I straighten my hair at without damaging too much?
I have a Chi straightener and i used to straighten it at 400 degrees (the maximum) and that destroyed my poor hair. So then I tried at around 150 degrees and it didn't come out so great.

Are Chi's more damaging than Conair? and what temperature should i set it at? my hair is somewhat curly and thick.

  1. Chi is a professional iron. You really have to be careful with those. As for heat it really depends on the hair texture. I'm black with coarse hair and I can put my FHI on 450 with no prob. I recommend you set it on 175 for your next time and see how it comes out. If that doesn't work then set it to 200...and so on. But never put it back to that 400 range. Don't go over 300.
