I'm looking into ulta, spa 51, dolce lusso, hair color xperts.
or any other salons that would start off paying well. I can't live off minimum wage. I just graduated beauty school and I'm looking for my first job

Ok. I own a salon in Charlotte and will tell you that you should be looking for an assistant position to get in-salon hands-on experience. You would be paid an hourly wage + tips but the goal is NOT to stay an assistant buut to become a stylist within 6 months. Depending on how quick you learn you should be able to attain that goal. You have to start from the bottom and work your way up.Once you are a stylist they will start you on a commision base BUT remember what good is commision if you have NO clients?! A good salon will help you build your clientele over time. It should be a win-win situation for you both.
I would always recommend to stay in South Charlotte because the women who spend the most money on their hair live here. But working with affluient people you have to be VERY professional and hard working. Are you???
We currently have 2 assistants in training that I have to get on the floor before we hire anyone else.You can always email me with any questions :)

I have a school reward trip tomorrow, to some local hot springs, and I don't know what to do with my hair.
It's light brown, a little bit past my shoulders, and I don't have bangs. If it helps I'm short, about 5 foot, and my bikini is black and white.

i usually do a messy bun or a ponytail. i would go with a messy bun if you'll be swimming and playing around a lot because if you whip your head to the side, your pony tail might slap you in the face.

you could also put your hair in a ponytail, braid or twist it, then wrap it in a bun.

I would go for the second one, I have that style but a little different and I have also owned the style as the first one and it made my curls big.. It was still nice but I prefer the second one because it goes from smaller to bigger and it makes the curls so much nicer. Hope this helped. :)

I am wondering if it would allow me to adjust the length of the attachment combs. I am looking for hair clippers that can cut 3mm length, but most of the hair clippers I see comes with 1/8" attachment (about 4mm) or larger.

this allows you to cut even when trying to blend the hair in so it wont look like a mismatch in length.

i have thick thick hair and this is the only straightner that actually works for my hair. ive had it for 4 years and it still works brand new. i had another one a coiuple years ago and it stopped getting hot after 2 months of use

i also use it everyday without heat protection (just a money grabber imo) and my hair isn't damaged at all

If you've ever used hair clippers, or asked for a "number 4 on the back and sides" you'll know what I mean by "the numbers on hair clippers"

But what do they represent in terms of length?

I was thinking maybe quaters of a centimetre;
1 = 1/4 of a centimetre
2 = 2/4
3 = 3/4
4 = 4/4 or 1cm

Here is a chart which represent most of the clippers attachment blade:
000000 = 0.1 mm 0.250 inch (blade with no guard)
00000 = 0.2 mm 0.125 inch (blade with no guard)
000 = 0.5 mm 0.100 inch (blade with no guard)
0A = 1.2 mm (blade with no guard)
1 = 2.4 mm
1A = 3.0 mm 3/8 inch
2 = 6 mm 1/4 inch
3 = 9 mm 3/8 inch
4 = 12 mm 1/2 inch

I wouldn't brush curly synthetic hair if I were you. You'll end up ruining the curls. Just throw it away since you've already had it for a while. Synthetic hair is not made to last you for a long time. Start investing your money in human hair or human mix, it will save you money in the long run because you wont't have to keep replacing it when it goes bad.

Okay so i'm growing my hair out for the first time ever (yay!) its currently about 2-3 inches long
i have noticed some issues with dandruff being worse than normal (it goes away then comes back)
and i was also wondering if there were any hair care tips for me? i want to grow it out to about 5-7 inches, but i want it to be soft luxurious hair, not the somewhat dry flaky kind i have now. i don't dye it and don't plan to if that helps. thanks!

As far as getting soft hair, I swear by Olive Oil! Get Extra Virgin Olive Oil and cover your hair with it, about once or twice a week. I usually heat it up a little bit and leave it in overnight (I put a bandana or shower cap over my head to help with it getting all over the place). Everyone's hair is different, so it may or may not work for you, but it has worked wonders for me- my hair seems shinier, super soft, and easier to manage. Just make sure to shampoo thoroughly so it doesn't look all greasy. Also is good for skin when you use in moderation. I pretty much replaced my usual facial moisturizer with it.
