In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
After a year of posting SL fashion to Flickr, I finally had to buy that paid account—and at this point it seems like a new profile pic was in order, both for Flickr and for my in game profile. It's been too long since I updated either—my old one featured the Sin Skins skin I used to wear most and dual colors on my ears, both of which I've outgrown. I also never much liked the angle.
Profile pics are interesting beasts—I like them to be a generic, but still visually pleasing, introduction of the self: everyday styling, a clear shot that isn't quite boring, a little bit of expression. SL squeezes profiles into 3x4 shots (why, I'm not sure; perhaps because it's a visually pleasing ratio? it certainly isn't because SL likes uploading 3x4 images), and it shrinks profile pics so small that it's hard to cram in detail. A close crop looks best, and for me, here, that meant cropping out my cat ears. Oh well—at least the whiskers give a hint that I'm a catgirl. For the rest, I stuck to the skin that I almost always wear (an Another Skin mod that I made myself), the Nora eyes I've yet to switch from, my favorite pair of glasses, a standard (and simple) hairstyle from Kin, and a simple black tank from Celestial Studios. I did the slightest bit of editing outside of the crop—something to color in the negative space a tad so that it wasn't straight white.
And you know, I rather like it. ^_^
