Caddis fly, Limnephilus lunatus.
Caddis flies belong to the order Trichoptera - which means hairy wings. The hairs can be seen on this one if viewed large.
This afternoon was rather gloomy and I didn't manage to photograph many insects. The highlight of our visit to Kirkby Moor, Lincs, was a very obliging kingfisher - which was perched near us for ages (when we left for home it was still there!), but out of range for my macro lens... so no shots of it to share (unless you want blue blobs).
