my hair is shoulder length and i hae never dyed it before and it is black. i really want it to go platinum and dont want to do it at home so will a salon bleach my hair in one appointment to platinum blonde. i read that it could take several bleachings but will a salon do that. and also how much will it cost to do it.

Yes, they will bleach your hair from black to platinum, but more than likely it will take several bleachings before you get to the desired colour so plan on potentially spending a good bit of time there.

depending on how long your hair is( how much of it youre willing to lose in case your hair does shed) you should just do it yourself salons are pus#$ @* when it comes to bleaching, they take little baby steps, i mean i guess they have to because if your hair does get damaged then its their fault so i understand ):. but anyway i bleachd my hair from a really dark brown(basically black to blonde over the course of a week. i first used hydrogen peroxide(it works!) to get it to a med-light brown. then waited three days and nourished/prepared my hair during that time.I then bought quick blue bleach by L'oreal and left it in my hair for about 45- 50 min and my hair was super blonde it could have gone platinum if i left it in there any longer lol but i just bleached my hair because i wanted to color it purpl so i wasnt really trying to get this beautiful platinum blonde. word of advice: moisture, condition, moisture, condition!
ReplyDeleteErrr, it will definitely take a couple of bleachings and they will probably do it gradually. It can cost a lot.. The price will vary will you go, but it'll definitely be over 100 dollars. Please do not go to anywhere like GreatClips or whatever, they are known for giving chemical scalp burns.
ReplyDeletethey will but the cost will be very high, at the salon i work at our color correction process starts from 300.00 in chicago, and yes it will be a long process for it to get blonde , probably will not be PLATINUM the first time and you may have to come back , and you will probably need to get alot of hair cut off because it can be very damaging , my advice , slowly start to go blonde step by step, yes it will take longer but ur hair will be saved!!!:)
